2014 Q7 TDI Warranty and Leaking Injectors. In 2019, I thought getting a Q7 TDI with the TDI emissions extended warranty was a smart choice. Maybe not! I love the drive and feel of the Q7 TDI, however it has spent a considerable amount of time at the dealer for oil leaks that have been fixed removing the engine, all under warranty.
Q7 (4M) 3.0 TDI Coolant leak. My Q7 has been slowly leaking coolant for a while, and recently had it diagnosed as a coolant stop valve, which is annoyingly buried at the bottom of the V of the engine. To replace it, you need to remove intake manifold, EGR valve, parts of the fuel system etc etc which is very labour intensive.

I do not know if the 2.0 gasser has the oil cooler to disconnect the hose from, like on the TDI. You might as well put a new OEM thermostat back in. Whaler was the OEM manufacturer for the '85 Jetta I had, possibly this brand still is. Do not run the engine without coolant in the block (can damage the waterpump seal).Im in the process of rebuilding my 3.0t because of a burnt exhaust valve. The engine has 210k miles and ran good up until the valve burnt up. It burned about 1 qt of oil per 1k miles and has the timing chain rattle for a second or two upon startup.
