The only way to play ETS2 multiplayer was by downloading a mod called TruckersMP, which made it possible to do so. This mod is still around and a great way to enjoy Euro Truck Simulator 2 MP. When you've selected the right game (or both), you have to locate your ETS2 or ATS directory. I don't know if it automatically finds it, but if not, then this is the common ETS2 directory: Local Drive (C:) -> Program Files (x86) -> Steam -> Steamapps -> common -> Euro Truck Simulator 2. Select the ETS folder and click on OK. Now click next. There will be a 4 player coop mode called 'Convoy' launching for ATS sometime in the not too distant future. So SCS are definitely working on it. TruckersMP works great, but the developers also teased official multiplayer support in the near future. They are woeking on a co-op (convoi) function.
Hi, I just bought ETS2 for my boys at home, I know about the TruckerMP mod, but on the Steam store it does say that ETS2 comes with Multiplayer Coop, which is perfect, as I don't want to let them into a "official" mod with other players, as, they are kids. How can I have them play multiplayer co-op, or is the label as I suspect only the mod, meaning ETS2 takes credit for something someoneelse
Sure if you know how to hook your own code to the game and create your own networking server. For an experienced programmer (with experience in creating game `'hacks" and game servers) it should take at a minimum of 2 months to get 2 players together with basic truck physics. If you're looking for all the hard work done, that is not possible.
