The best way to calm an overexcited dog is to take a walk that takes it away from the stimulus. A walk provides direct exercise that will channel excess energy to your dogs without draining them. Exercise and daily training are one of the best ways to change the behavior patterns of your dogs.Your dog will already be excited so stay calm and use soothing praise throughout this exercise. If you can’t recruit a helper, you can carefully open the door (make sure your pup doesn’t run out!) and ring the doorbell or knock on the door. Most dogs will bark even when they can see the person ringing the bell. Practice for 3-5 minutes.

Jump Over Leg. Teach your dog to jump over your leg. You can start out sitting on the ground to prevent them from “cheating” by slipping underneath your leg. Put your foot against a barrier of some sort (such as a wall, a couch, a tree etc.) and toss a cookie over your leg so that your dog has to jump over to get it. Yes, French Bulldogs do calm down eventually. The high energy behavior will reduce as they approach adulthood. Frenchies that are neutered or spayed between 4 and 9 months will also start to calm down and exbibit less high energy behavioural patterns. However, don’t let that lull you into a false sense of security. Some of the things you can do to signal your calm demeanor are as follows: Lower your voice – Speaking in a low baritone makes your calmness more noticeable to a German Shepherd. Draw out your commands – Instead of saying “heel!” you should say, “Heeeeeel.”. Try this with all orders while the dog is hyper. 5lA6.
