Toyota Aygo - Aygo semi-auto transmission problem. Dear HJ, I have had my Aygo since 2007 and there has always been a jerking and shaking as soon as the car is fired up. It eases away as the engine heats up. Toyota have failed to diagnose a problem, and the car has had regular services and passed the MOT.
DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/ Daytime Running Light) Turn the light control switch to the off or AUTO position (with the low beam headlights not turned on via the automatic light control system). Start the engine. Check that the daytime running lights come on.
2022 Aygo X review:
Disconnect the clutch cable from the release lever. Remove the bolt that holds in place the wiring loom bracket. Disconnect the switch found at the front bottom of the gearbox and the switch found at the rear of the gearbox, before stowing the wiring loom aside. Completely remove the gear selector unit by removing the three securing bolts.
As mentioned above, the ECM controls the engine timing, and air/fuel ratio. So, when it goes bad, it can knock your Aygo’s air fuel ratio off. This could lead to poor fuel economy, the previously mentioned rough running engine, backfiring, a flashing check engine light, and an engine that has no giddy-up and go. 4.

That said I had to replace mine at about 40,000, but it turned out the clutch plate itself was fine and likely had over 20,000 miles left on it; It was the diaphragm spring which was buggered! Hydraulic clutches are almost always self-adjusting which makes it hard to get a feel for the wear rate.
